I have stayed at this hotel t least 5 times over the years. Now it has been refurbished I have found it more comfortable. The staff have always in my opinion been most helpful. It is in a great location,I can highly recomend this hotel William Forster.
Superb location in the old city of Istanbul, very close to all the main sites of interest. The hotel is also beautifully situated with stunning views from the rooms and 360 degrees from the top-floor restaurant. Located next to the Hagia Sophia, TopKapi Palace, Blue Mosque, etc. A new charming community park is being constructed right in front of the renovated hotel right on top of the underground Basilica which will greatly add to the charm and location of the hotel. It will make the breakfast on the hotel's pleasant ground floor terrace unforgettable.
The hotel has a superb opportunity to make more business if it manages to improve the kitchen of the top floor restaurant. The stunning views and the pleasantly decorated restaurant are not balanced with good cuisine. I'd advice the management to simplify the menu to just a few choices, but choices that are top-quality and that distinguish themselves from the offering of the surrounding restaurants. A smaller menu of a few excellent choices will guarantee success, spread the fame and name of the hotel, yet reduce the kitchen management. The breakfast menu should ideally be geared a bit more to the international tourist.
The location was terrific as were the breakfasts and front of house staff. Would have liked a larger chair and an easier bath to get in and out of. \otherwise love the place.
The staff was very accomodating and the response to any request was "we can do that" or "let us help". The location was perfect- in the middle of all the attractions but very quiet and personal.
Location is great, 150 m from Haga Sofia, in a quiet street with no traffic, just a few steps from Basilica Cisterna, and a minute walk from tram stop, which is in the parallel street. Staff is efficient and friendly. Rooms are very new, good standard and clean, nice bathroom, very comfortable bed. Fantastic roof restaurant (has probably one of the best views in Istanbul), it's a pity they do not serve breakfasts there. Big windows allow lots of light into the room at daytime.
There are two wall lights in the room, but there's no any big ceiling lighting, so you cannot get the room really light in the evening. Below the windows facing the back side of the building there is a big block of aircon/ventilation system units, that produces some noise, audible at night, can be a problem if you don't sleep well. Breakfast is good, but would be better if they added some meat cuts.
This was our second stay at the And Hotel, which we originally chose because of its location, close to many of the places of interest and the panoramic view from the hotel's breakfast terrace and restaurant. Returning after two years, it was obvious that the hotel has undergone an extensive renovation and redecoration, whilst retaining some of the original charm. We were very pleased with our spacious, comfortable room, but it could have been improved with the addition of two chairs for use when watching television.
Breakfast is no longer served in the sixth floor restaurant, with panoramic view over the Sultan Ahmed quarter, but in a location at ground floor level which overlooks a site cleared, prior to building development. The shower cabin, with sit-down feature, is difficult to use. In order to use the shower, guests have to step up directly from the bathroom floor (a height of more than half a metre) with nothing to hold on to. Stepping down again when the shower cabin is wet, is even more difficult. The hotel ought to install a handrail (and possibly two steps as well) to enable guests to climb in and out of the shower cabin, without risk of injury.
Hotel is perfect in terms of location"Old City attractions",Public transportation,Resturants, cafe's and shopping"Grand Bazar".Rooms are adequate for 3"Child+2",Bath room is good and clean, room service is good, hotel resturant is good with variety.Helpuful reseptionest"Meryam and Mehmood".
Reasonable but rather limited breakfeast.
The And Hotel offers a friendly and safe, as well as a quiet respite in the center of the tourist district of Istanbul. The view of The Blue Mosque was lovely, even from my 1st Floor window. The people at the front dest were kind and helpful. As a single, female, elderly traveler I was very pleased. Yet, I also noticed a number of families staying there, enjoying the extensive breakfast possibilities.
Although the building directly across from the hotel was gone, the resulting dusty vacant lot may soon become a construction site. The resulting, unobstructed view of The Blue Mosque Skyline was excellent, yet future construction may not be so pleasant. Call or e-mail ahead of time, as construction may not take place for quite some time.
Good Service. Very courteous staff. Excellant breakfast ( included in the room charges). Helpful to arrange tours of the city attractions. Close to a mosque ( so I could go for prayer when i needed to ).
Excellent location in very heart of historical center of the Istambul, plenty interesting places within the walk distance. Convenient transportation to get to another points of tourist’s interest Good comfort and service for the money, everything was matching to the paid price I would recommend this Hotel for the ones who is going to see the City and have comfortable rest after all.
Breakfast and impersonal staff.
And Hotel is centrally located in the old town of Istanbul and very very near to all the main tourist attractions in Sultamahmet area. It is a small hotel but I was impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms, bathrooms and hotel staff. Although the room was small but it had a balcony with a fantastic view of the Bosphorus. We had a very warm welcome by the Manager and by Mr. Can. Mr. Can arranged best city tours and excellent Turkish Night show at Orient House.Through the courtesies afforded to me by the and Hotel, I saw almost all the main tourist attractions in the city, enjoyed a Turkish bath at a nearby 300 year old Hamaam, did bargain shopping and ate well. I thank all the Staff at the and Hotel. Well done! Keep up the good work.
I feel that the hotel tariff is higher as compare to nearby similer hotels. There was no coffee/tea maker in the room, usually all hotels of similer kind privide this facility. Buffet Breakfast items are limited.
The staff makes you feel at home , plus the new restaurant on the roof is great.Wonderful view over the Bosphorus, Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. Excelent choice for breakfast. Best value for money.
The staff were really friendly. We had a room with small balcony looking towards the two mosques - excellent view. The location is superb! Nice restaurant on the top with excellent views.
The room was extremely small! However, it was not a problem for me personally, keeping in mind that I stayed there for a couple of nights. If you stay more than that you will definitely become annoyed. Furthermore, if you are fat, you will have huge problem in the bathroom, as you will not be able to sit on the toilet. I took a look at the other rooms and they are not that small. We were just unlucky.
Our room on monunent side could have been bigger.
